The Russian Chamber Music Foundation of Seattle was formed in 2007 as a non-profit corporation. Our mission is
"to bring the best of Russian music to American audiences." The organization is the brainchild of Dr. Natalya
Ageyeva and represents a long-held vision of hers. Born in Moscow, with a passion for Russian culture and music,
educated in Russia and the United States, all in addition to being an accomplished performing artist - this
background make her the ideal choice for Artistic Director.

Seattle-area audiences can look forward to many outstanding concerts in the future. We made a decision to enter
this market at the highest level. Our three-year record of success tells us that this is what the audiences want, and
we will continue to offer outstanding artists and programs. (Check the Events section for upcoming events, but also
for an archival record of past events.) The model for our performances is to invite accomplished individual artists
from near and far and combine them into different ensembles to fit the program. The programs will be drawn
primarily from the rich and wonderful heritage of Russian chamber music. The Foundation also organized and
hosted the first-ever Russian Piano Festival/Competition in Seattle in 2008; its success guarantees that it will be an
annual December event. December 2010 marks the inauguration of the annual Sunday afternoon Eastside Piano
Recital Series in Medina.

The Artistic Advisory Board has a number of well-known musicians from the greater Seattle area. The Advisory
Board aids the Artistic Director to develop future programs and identify appropriate artists. The Board of Directors
oversees the management and fiduciary functions and generates the resources to support the growth of the
Foundation.

Non-profit 501(c)(3) status has been granted by the IRS so all donations are tax-deductible. We are confident that
great music presented by great musicians in great venues such as Nordstrom Auditorium at Benaroya Hall will
generate a donor base that will solidify a sustainable organization. This will guarantee a future with many
exceptional performances and competitions as well as expansion into other activities such as master classes,
outreach programs in schools, CD releases, and tours outside the Northwest.

About Us
Why RCMFS?

Russian Chamber Music Foundation of Seattle is a non-profit organization that has great potential to exemplify the many facets
of Russian music. For example, the involvement of children in festivals and competitions will allow them to develop broader
knowledge of Russian music and obtain better technique. Inviting well-known artists as adjudicators of festivals and
competitions will capture a broad range of people both in the audience and the participants. Outreach programs in schools will
increase the diversity in their music programs. The Russian Chamber Music Foundation has been presented with the
opportunity to work with the very prestigious Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center in New York on collaborative projects.
We at RCMFS can definitely build a cultural foundation of Russian chamber music and demonstrate that anyone can listen to,
learn, and perform Russian music.

Our mission is “to bring the best of Russian music to American audiences.” We are promoting Russian chamber music and
also hoping to develop stronger cultural relationships between the United States and Russia. The arts are a wonderful arena in
which to find common ground that transcends cultural, political and geographic boundaries. The commitment of our founders
and sponsors will make this great project possible!

Why Russian Chamber Music?

Our organization represents a unique niche in Seattle that will allow audiences to be drawn by the magnetism of Russian
chamber music. Chamber music in general allows people to experience more intimate communication with the music and
musicians. The Russian Chamber Music Foundation will enable audiences to gain deeper knowledge of Russian culture
through the art of music. One of our goals is to invite high-level musicians from America and abroad who will perform chamber
music in our beautiful city of Seattle.
